Kennebunk police have confirmed that a grounds crew at the Webhannet Golf Club discovered the body of an 87-year-old woman on the golf course Thursday morning.

Lt. Eric O’Brien said investigators believe the woman, whose name is not being released, may have suffered a medical event. O’Brien said police do not suspect any crime.

O’Brien said the maintenance crew found the woman’s body in a gully close to Sea Road. He said the woman lived within walking distance of where her body was found – near the intersection of Sea Road and Route 9.

Kennebunk police were notified around 8:30 a.m.

Webhannet Golf Club is at 26 Golf Club Drive.
