TURNER — Aimee Adams scored 16 points and hauled in 14 rebounds to lead the Gardiner girls basketball team past Leavitt 58-45 in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A game Wednesday.

Jaycie Stevens added 10 points for Gardiner (1-1) while Logan Granholm had seven points and seven rebounds.

Leavitt (1-1) was led by Sophia Gilbert with a game-high 23 points.

LAWRENCE 58, MESSALONSKEE 43: Camryn Caldwell scored 15 points, one of four Bulldogs in double figures, in the KVAC A win in Fairfield.

Molly Folsom had a double-double for Lawrence (2-0) with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Brooklynn Lambert and Keagan Alley also had 10 points each.

Gabrielle Wener scored a game-high 18 points for defending Class A state champion Messalonskee (0-2).

KENTS HILL 40, GOULD 36: Jarni Hewins finished with a game-high 17 points to lead the Huskies on the road.

Tiffany McGhie added 15 for Kents Hill (3-0).

Kayley Cadet scored 14 for Gould (0-1).

BOYS BASKETBALL

GARDINER 54, LEAVITT 42: Connor McGuire scored 14 points to lead the Tigers to a victory over the Hornets at the Augusta Civic Center.

Cole Lawrence scored 12 points, while Cole Heaberlin added 11 points for Gardiner (2-0).

Wyatt Hathaway had 12 points for Leavitt (0-2).

ERSKINE 79, CONY 56: The Eagles went 27 for 28 from the free throw line and pulled away with a 12-0 run to end the third quarter in a KVAC A win in Augusta.

Jack Jowett scored 29 points for Erskine (1-1), while Braden Soule added 20.

Jordan Roddy had 13 points to pace Cony (0-2).
