HOULTON — Police have accused a longtime Maine teacher of unlawful sexual contact involving a minor.
Houlton Police Chief Tim DeLuca said Monday officials started investigating 75-year-old James Rochford after they were contacted on social media by a potential victim.
Rochford was arrested Thursday and charged with three counts of unlawful sexual contact, furnishing a place for minors to consume alcohol and furnishing liquor to a minor. It wasn’t immediately known if he had a lawyer a voice message at his home number said he wasn’t accepting calls.
Rochford works at the Region Two School of Applied Technology.
