CHINA — A two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Route 3 and Lakeview Drive sent four to the hospital without serious injuries Wednesday afternoon in China.
The driver of a Jeep Patriot coming from Islesboro stopped at 1:30 p.m. on Lakeview Drive to turn right onto Route 3 and, thinking she had the right of way, pulled out in front of a Subaru Legacy, which was coming from Palermo, and they collided, causing the Jeep to roll over, according to Sgt. Frank Hatch, of the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office.
Hatch did not release the names of those involved as he did not have a final report from his deputy, but said both operators were female and had passengers with them in the vehicles. The Jeep’s driver had a young girl in a car seat in the back of the vehicle, Hatch said, and according to the deputy who went to the accident scene, the girl did not appear distressed when he arrived.
The drivers and their passengers all were taken to the hospital, as some were experiencing pain, but no serious injuries were apparent. Both vehicles were towed from the accident scene.
Hatch said he was unaware of any pending charges against either party late Wednesday afternoon.
