A sink hole is snarling traffic in Gorham, police say, and motorists are being asked to avoid the area this weekend.

The sink hole developed Friday along Ossipee Trail, also known as Route 25, between Alexander Drive and Spiller Road.

The section has been reduced to one lane of travel, and temporary traffic lights are controlling the flow of cars until the Maine Department of Transportation can fix the problem, police said.
