Madison’s Memorial Day parade will start at 10 a.m. Monday, May 28. Line up will begin at 9 a.m. at Garret Schenck School, 19 Ken Taylor St., in Anson. All Boy and Girl Scout Troops, school teams, bands etc., are welcome to participate.
Ceremonies are planned at the Anson Veterans Monument, in front of the Anson Town Office, 21 Kennebec St., in Anson, and at the Madison Library, 12 Old Point Ave., in Madison, with guest speaker Sen. Rod Whittemore, R-Skowhegan.
A luncheon for parade participates will be served by the American Legion Auxiliary following the parade. A Memorial Day Ceremony also is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. at the Joseph Quirion Monument in East Madison on East Madison Road, and at 2 p.m. at the Starks Community Center, at 57 Anson Road in Starks. Everyone is welcome to attend the ceremonies.
A poppy display, featuring art by fifth-grade students of Madison Jr. High School, Garret Schenck, Carrabec Community and Solon schools, will be on view at Madison American Legion Hall on 20 South Maple St., in Madison.
