A Waterboro man was convicted Thursday of trying to kidnap a woman after shocking her with a cattle prod-shaped Taser in October 2015, the York County District Attorney said Friday.

Christopher T. Hall, 52, was found guilty of charges of aggravated assault, felony assault and attempted kidnapping, District Attorney Kathryn Slattery said in a press release.

Hall is accused of disguising himself with a wig and luring a woman to a remote residence in Arundel, tasing her and trying to force her into a nearby van in order to hold her for ransom or reward.

But the woman, who was not identified in the statement, fought off Hall despite the Taser burns to her legs, fled the area and called police.

The jury of six men and five women deliberated for half a day following a two-week trial.

Justice Thomas Delahanty, an active-retired judge who presided over the trial, is expected to sentence Hall in July. He remains in custody.

The case was investigated by the York County Sheriff’s Office.
