Winthrop Maine Historical Society will host author and columnist George Smith from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 14, at the Winthrop Town Office, 17 Highland Ave.
Smith will talk about growing up in the 1950s and 60s in Winthrop. He served as the executive director of the Sportsman’s Alliance of Maine for 18 years.
His books include “Maine Sporting Camps,” published in 2016 by Down East Books, as well as “A Life Lived Outdoors,” published by Islandport Press in 2014.
Light refreshments will be served at the free event.
