A multi-vehicle crash on the Maine Turnpike in Scarborough created significant delays Thursday morning.

The pileup occurred in the northbound lanes near mile 44 in Scarborough, the Maine Turnpike Authority said. Maine State Police responded to the scene and turnpike authorities issued a traffic alert warning drivers to expect major delays.
