GARDINER — Bailey Poore and Aimee Adams registered identical double-double performances to power the Gardiner girls basketball team to a 48-29 win over Mt. Ararat in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference game Thursday night.
Poore and Adams each scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Tigers (5-2). Jaycie Stevens had a fine all-around night, too, for Gardiner with three points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals.
Theresa Breed and Ainsley Bryant each scored six points for Mt. Ararat (3-4).
BOYS BASKETBALL
HALL-DALE 47, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 46: Ashtyn Abbott’s 16 points helped the Bulldogs knock the Phoenix from the ranks of the unbeaten in a Mountain Valley Conference game in Jay.
Tim Cookson added nine points for Hall-Dale (6-1), while Patrick Rush scored eight.
Kayle Stewart led Spruce Mountain (6-1) with 13 points.
WINTHROP 93, CARRABEC 25: Two Ramblers scored more than 20 points and Winthrop led by 48 at halftime in an MVC romp at home.
Cameron Hachey scored a game-high 26 points — including eight 3-pointers — while Cam Wood added 25 more for Winthrop (7-1).
Nikkolas Dube scored a team-high 15 points for Carrabec (0-7).
MT. ABRAM 58, RICHMOND 45: Nate Luce led the Roadurunners with 19 points as they picked up their first win of the season in Salem.
Adam Luce added 14 points for Mt. Abram (1-6) while Hunter Warren had 10 in the victory.
Calob Densmore led Richmond (1-7) with 20 points, while Daniel Stewart had 10 points.
