OAKLAND — Bailey Donovan scored a game-high 23 points to lead the Hampden girls basketball team past Messalonskee 47-40 in Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A action Tuesday.
Alydia Brilliant added eight points for Hampden (7-1).
Gabby Wener had 15 points, seven rebounds and three blocks to lead Messalonskee (4-4) and Mackenzie Mayo added 10 points.
BOYS BASKETBALL
HAMPDEN 77, MESSALONSKEE 49: Each Broncs starter scored in double digits, led by Marc Hutchings and Ross Webb each with 16 points to pace the Broncos to the KVAC A win in Hampden.
Bryce Lausier scored 14 points for Hampden (7-1) and was followed by Kory Winch with 12 and Michael Raye with 11.
Messalonskee (4-4) was led by Matthew Parent with a game-high 21 points and Noah Wood with 16.
