LEWISTON — Abigail Westberry, of Readfield, a senior at Bates College, presented a poster summarizing her summer research experience with Professor of Sociology Emily Kane.

Westberry, a sociology and politics major, shared a research poster titled “Navigating the In-Between Spaces: Community, Visibility, and Power within Long-term Motel Residency.”

Westberry, the daughter of Joseph P. and Dr. Nicola C. Westberry. of Readfield, is a 2015 graduate of Maranacook Community School.

She was among 85 Bates students who received support through the Dean of the Faculty’s office in order to undertake summer research.
