The Vassalboro Ministry Association Fuel Fund Board will hold a volunteer-staffed benefit spaghetti supper with pies at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at the Vassalboro United Methodist Church, 614 Main St., Vassalboro. Proceeds will be used for residents in need of fuel assistance next winter. Suggested donation for the supper is $7 for adults, $4 for children 4-12 years old and free for those 3 and younger. A 50/50 raffle is planned.
The association has been providing heating oil assistance for low-income, disabled community members, and families with children experiencing financial hardship since 2005. Funds are raised through donations. Other fundraisers are held throughout the year. Donations are appreciated and can be mailed to VMA Fuel Fund, P.O. Box 302, North Vassalboro, ME 04962, or call 616-9558.
Sponsoring fellowships include Center Vassalboro Baptist Church, Corpus Christi Parish, North Vassalboro Baptist Church, Riverside United Congregational Church, Vassalboro Full Gospel Church, Vassalboro Religious Society of Friends (Quaker) and Vassalboro United Methodist Church.
