WINSLOW — The driver of a Chevrolet Impala was taken to a local hospital after colliding with a UPS truck on China Road Monday afternoon, police said.
The name of the driver, a man, was not immediately available.
Captain Haley Fleming of the Winslow Police Department said the man sustained “pretty bad” injuries after his car crashed into a UPS truck that was headed east on China Road.
Police are investigating. Fleming said the cause of the crash may have been either a medical event or distracted driving.
The crash occurred around 3 p.m. Monday and closed three lanes of traffic in the aftermath. At the scene, Fleming said it was too early to say if there would be any charges.
The Winslow Fire Department and Delta Ambulance also responded.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
