The Skowhegan Parks & Recreation Department will host the following annual Easter events on Saturday, April 20, at the Skowhegan Community Center, 39 Poulin Drive, Skowhegan.
• Bunny Bonanza, for children 5 and younger, will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Children should bring a basket because the Easter Bunny will come to the center to hide plastic eggs to find. There will be games, coloring and fun.
• Easter Egg Scavenger Race, for children 6 to 11 years old, will start at 11 a.m. Participants will follow the clues, perform the task, and collect eggs filled with candy, coupons and prizes. Participants will meet in the center gymnasium to receive instructions.
• Teen Flashlight Egg Hunt, for teens 12 to 17 years old, will begin at 7 p.m. The center will be dark, so bring a flashlight. Search for plastic eggs filled with candy, coupons and other prizes.
The free events may be held inside or outside, so dress appropriately. Registration is not required.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
