Madison’s Memorial Day parade will start at 10 a.m. Monday, May 27, with line up at 9 a.m. at Garret Schenck School, 19 Ken Taylor St., in Anson.
All Boy and Girl Scout Troops, school teams, bands, etc. are welcome to participate.
Ceremonies will follow at the Anson Veterans’ Monument in front of the Anson Town Office, 5 Kennebec St., Anson, and at the Madison Public Library, 12 Old Point Ave., Madison, with guest speaker, House Rep. Chad Grigon. A luncheon for parade participates will be served by the American Legion Auxiliary following the parade.
Memorial Day ceremonies also are scheduled at 1 p.m. at the Joseph Quirion Monument, East Madison Road, in East Madison; at 2 p.m. at the Starks Community Center, 57 Anson Road, Starks; and at 3 p.m. at Madison Veterans of Foreign Wars on Preble Avenue in Madison.
A poppy display by fifth-grade students of Madison Jr. High School, Garret Schenck, Carrabec Community and Solon schools will be on view during Memorial Day weekend at Madison American Legion Hall on 20 South Maple St., Madison.
