PALERMO — The Palermo Community Library is sponsoring a drive-up chili fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 17, at the library at 2789 Route 3.
The meal costs $7, with a choice of a 12-ounce container of homemade chili (spicy, mild, or meatless).
Orders are accepted by phone by calling Diane Bent at 207-993-2040, Anne Kurek at 207-314-5930, or Sharon Nichols at 207-993-6088. An additional 12 ounce servings of chili can be purchased for $5 each. Orders will be delivered curbside to people’s cars.
While orders are being filled, tickets can be purchased for a chance on the “Movie Night” basket the library is raffling. Tickets will be $1 per ticket or six for $5. The basket is loaded with a stove-top popcorn popper, popping corn and movie-style containers, several DVDs, wine and wine glasses, movie candy, and several gift cards. A complete list of contents will be listed on the library website.
The storm date is Sunday, April 18. For more information, call 207-993-6088, email [email protected] or visit palermo.lib.me.us.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
