Douglas R. Hayden
SOLON – Douglas R. Hayden passed away March 28, 2021 at 11:20 a.m. after being diagnosed with Cancer. Doug was born and raised in Solon. Parents are Francis Hayden and Nettie Hayden “Lincoln”. Doug worked at Norwok Shoe, Madison Paper, and North Anson Reel. Doug loved to play country music with his friend in Harmony, North Anson and Bingham. They called themselves the Friday Night Jammers. Doug played guitar, banjo, violin, accordion, harmonica, mandolin and piano.He was predeceased by his brother and sister Bernard, Herbert, Millar, Doris Durwood Alfred, Carl and Wilder.Doug was survived by his two sisters and brother, Corrine Richardson from Clinton, Chloe Collins and husband Gerald Collins from Cornville. and Wayne Hayden and wife Greta Hayden from Solon; his daughter Gale J. Diggs; granddaughter Shannon K. Welch and great-grandson Ryan M. Welch, grandson Brandon J. Dugas. Doug was married to Patricia A. Stoodley with her son Dale White. He then married Janet Boullette of Skowhegan of 16 years. She had five children, Marcia, Bonnie, Barbara, Laurie and Larry; he raised them as his own. Doug had a big heart and would always help anyone in need. He was also survived by his girlfriend Gloria Young. They spent the last four years of his life going out on the weekends to play music, camping at the bluegrass festivals. They really enjoyed country music together. There will be a celebration of life held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
