
Edwin C. Wentworth
OCALA, Fla. – Edwin C. Wentworth, 80, of Ocala, passed away Jan. 11, 2021 at Ocala Regional Medical Center. He was born April 22, 1940 in Rome, Maine. He attended Richmond High School in Maine. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, U.S. Naval Reserves, attended the U.S. Army NCO Academy and received a good conduct medal. Edwin married Rosemary Parker in 1965. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service, after serving as postmaster in Mexico and Oakland. He also spent many years with RSU 18 Oakland, Maine State Police Force, as well as Gardiner, Maine Police Force and he was a Selectman in Belgrade and Rome. Edwin was a member of many organizations, including the Masonic Lodge #113 in Oakland, Volunteer Fire Department in Mexico, the Lions Club in Mexico, School Board SAD #43 in Mexico, American Legion in Richmond, The Grange in Rome, and a member of the Rome Baptist Church where he cooked many Thanksgiving dinners. Edwin was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was also a Dedicated Foster Parent to many children over 40 years.He is survived by his wife, Rosemary of Ocala; daughters, Michelle Lang-Gough of Pensacola, Fla. and Kim Warman of Pittsfield, son-in-law, Mike Warman of Pittsfield; grandchildren, Paige Henry of Vassalborro, Lauren Warman of Arlington, Texas, Kaylee Warman of Pittsfield; great-grandson, Brayden; many nieces, nephews, cousins; and The Lincolns, who considered Edwin PaPa, Cathy, Jerry and Tenny.He was predeceased by his parents, Calvin and Bertha (Gilpatrick) Wentworth; twin brother, Edmund, brother, Levi, Sr., sister, Claire Harriman; and nephew, Greg Harriman. Funeral services will be at the Maine Veterans Cemetery, Civic Center Drive in Augusta, June 18 at 2 p.m. Celebration of Life will follow at the VFW, Leighton Rd.
