SKOWHEGAN — Two people were taken by LifeFlight helicopter from the scene of a Thursday evening motor vehicle crash on Bigelow Hill Road in Skowhegan, poloice said.
Chief David Bucknam of the Skowhegan Police Department said rescue workers responded at 5:34 p.m. to the report of a car that had hit a tree. Bucknam said he did not have the exact location of the crash.
The chief said David Boicette, 36, was driving a 2007 Nissan Maxima and was traveling west when his car hit the tree.
Also injured in the crash: passengers Cody Johnson, 25, and Mallory Copp, 34.
Boicette and Johnson were taken by LifeFlight to a Bangor hospital.
Copp was taken to Redington-Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan after reporting chest pain following the crash.
Bucknam said an investigation of the crash was ongoing Thursday night, but it appeared alcohol and speed may have been factors.
