
Robert “Bob” Adams
SKOWHEGAN – Robert “Bob” Adams passed away on May 28, 2021, at home surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer.Bob was born on August 17, 1941. He was the son of Charles Adams and Fredena (Howes) Adams. Bob was educated in the Fairfield school system. He was a lifetime member of the VFW in Fairfield and a member of the Central Maine ATV club. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed ATVing. He was employed at Keyes Fibre Co. for 35 years. He served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1966 and was a Vietnam veteran. He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Fredena Adams; brothers Richard of Fairfield and Carroll of Leesburg Fla. and sister, Beverly, who died at birth; father-in-law, Arthur Bushey, mother-in-law, Gabrielle Bushey; brothers-in-law, Robert Bushey and Nelson Vellieux.Bob is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Pauline “Polly” Adams of Skowhegan; his daughter, Laura Liberty and her companion Dan Carroll, a son, Scott Adams of Moscow; two sisters, Barbara Marino and husband Ed of Mt. Dora Fla. and Alberta Goodhue of Fairfield and brother-in-law Martin Goodhue, one brother, Dale Adams of Fairfield, sister-in-law Sue Bushey of Skowhegan and sister-in-law Judy Bushey of Norridgwock. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Reid Liberty of Fairfield and Brooke Liberty also of Fairfield; one great-grandchild, Cassidy Liberty of China and another great-granddaughter expected in September; and many nieces and nephews, cousins; and great friends.The family would like to express their gratitude to the Togus VA Medical Center in Maine and the Phoenix VA Hospital in Arizona. He received excellent medical care and advice throughout the many years of treatment. We would also like to thank Maine General Hospital Hospice care personnel Michelle. She was an angel like caregiver for Bob.
