The University of Maine at Farmington is scheduled to host a public walk-in COVID-19 vaccine clinic from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 5, at 274 Front St. for adults.
Vaccines are provided at no cost, and Maine residency is no longer required.
Adults getting their first shot will be administered the one-shot Johnson & Johnson Janssen vaccine by staff from NorthStar EMS, Maine Emergency Medical Services, and Healthy Community Coalition of Greater Franklin County.
Those individuals who received their first dose of the Moderna vaccine at the May 8 UMF vaccine clinic will get their final dose of Moderna and should bring their COVID-19 vaccination record card with them.
Everyone entering should wear a mask and will be screened for symptoms. Once inside they’ll be given a hospital mask to wear.
After getting vaccinated there is a short wait period before being allowed to leave; the entire process should take about 40 minutes.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
