
Lorraine C. Vaillancourt
AUGUSTA – Lorraine C. Vaillancourt, 75, died Friday, July 9, 2021, at her home following a brief battle with cancer. She was born in Augusta on Sept. 3, 1945, a daughter of the late Leo J. and Cecile M. (Maheux) Albert.
Mrs. Vaillancourt was a graduate of Cony High School and a communicant of St. Augustine Catholic Church, where on Sept. 17, 1966, she married her high school sweetheart Ronald.
She had been employed for many years by the State of Maine Law Enforcement Division, Maine State Police as a payroll supervisor until her retirement in 2005. During her retirement she enjoyed her grandchildren and any child or teenage that came into her home, and she treated them like her own. Since her retirement she volunteered at the Capital City Jr. Rifle Club as the score keeper, along with volunteering 13 years at the NRA small bore National Championships at Camp Perry and Bristol Indiana in the match admin office. She also enjoyed vacationing at Pemaquid with her husband, sister-in-law, and brother- in-law.
Mrs. Vaillancourt is survived by her husband of 54 1/2 years, Ron of Augusta; three daughters: Leslie Brunelle and her husband John of Belgrade, Laurie Vaillancourt of Augusta and Amy Eames and her husband Harold, grand children Hannah and Hunter of Augusta; two sisters: Jeannette O’Hearn and her husband John of Tilton, NH and Patricia Michaud and her husband Robert of Chelsea; a sister in-law Doris Thuoette and her husband Eugene; of Westbrook as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Following cremation, relatives and friends may visit on Friday, July 23 from 9-10:30 a.m. at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following the visitation at 11 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Northern Ave., Augusta. Burial will follow in the old Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Dr., Augusta.
