SIDNEY – Dennis James Moody, 65, passed away at Central Maine Medical Center on July 6, 2021. He was born Feb. 2, 1956, a son of Felix and Ruth (Libby) Moody.
Dennis grew up in the greater Skowhegan area and following graduation from Nokomis High School, he enlisted in the Maine National Guard and later enlisted in the United States Army. While in the Army, he met Betty Lundborg and the two were married on Sept. 19, 1977. Together, they began a family and lived in various parts of Kansas, Illinois, Maryland and Maine eventually settling in Sidney, Maine.
In 1983, Dennis earned his truck driver’s license and drove cross country semi tractor trailers for Tri State Motor Transport until 1990. Dennis thoroughly enjoyed riding ATV’s and was the President of the Messalonskee Trail Riders ATV Club. He was a skilled woodworker and simply enjoyed being around friends and family telling stories.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Betty Moody; children, Peter Moody, Susan Moody, and Walter Moody; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and siblings, Keith Moody, Candace Moody, Sylvia Inman, and Marlene Brooks.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Eric, Francis, Jeanette, and Dorothy Moody.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 2, 2021 at 10 a.m. at the Maine Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Rd., Augusta, ME 04330.
