DAMARISCOTTA – Inn Along the Way’s in-person sounds and songs of summer gathering, musical celebration and fundraiser is to return Saturday, July 24, at the Chapman Farm, 741 Main St.
This celebration in the red barn is to feature the Rusty Hinges, Damariscotta Region Open Mic, inn tours and hayfield walks. The event is a by-donation fundraiser for the Inn Along the Way.
In traditional summer on the Maine coast style, community members attending the inn’s musical lawn and barn party, and who want to bring their own creative picnic, will be surrounded with an eclectic mix of music, song and verse.
Performer registration begins at 1 p.m., and festivities run from 1:30 until 4:30 p.m.
Rusty Hinges, whose performance will begin at 3:15 p.m., is a local Midcoast Maine band, playing an eclectic mix of acoustic music from folk music, from sea shanties to fiddle tunes, oldies to bluegrass and original tunes. Members of the band include Nancy Bidges, violin, guitar, vocals, penny whistle; John Couch, guitar, vocals, harmonica; John Monterisi, guitar, vocals; Dan Townsend, guitar, vocals; and Peter Saladino, electric bass, vocals.
