AUGUSTA — A tree and plant ID workshop, hosted by the Maine Wildlife Habitat Education Program, is planned from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, at the Sportsman’s Alliance of Maine Outdoor Education Center, 205 Church Hill Road.
The free workshop is open to everyone, but registration is required. Those who attend are asked to bring a bag lunch, and binoculars if possible.
Planned activities are as follows:
• 10-10:30 a.m., welcome and introductions;
• 10:30-11 a.m., tree basics;
• 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., visit stations;
• 12:30-1 p.m., lunch;
• 1-1:30 p.m., “Natives vs. Exotics vs. Invasives” and management to promote native plants; and
• 1:30 p.m., wrap up and next steps.
