FALMOUTH — University of Maine Cooperative Extension is to offer weekly garden tours from 5:30 to 7 p.m. every Thursday from Aug. 5 to 26 at the UMaine Extension Gardens at Tidewater Farm, Farm Gate Road.
Each tour will feature a different topic and begins with the cut flower garden, followed by growing herbs in Maine, native plants for the Maine garden, and beginner vegetable gardening.
UMaine Extension Master Gardener volunteers and Pamela Hargest, Extension horticulture professional, will lead the tours.
Each tour is $10 per person; registration is required and limited to 20 participants.
Register on the garden tour website at extension.umaine.edu.
All proceeds help support extension educational and food security projects.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
You can read more here about our commenting policy and terms of use. More information is also found on our FAQs.
