The annual Washington Challenge is to be held Sunday, Aug. 8. Registration is planned from 7 to 7:50 a.m., the Fun Run is planned to start at 8 a.m. and the 5K starts right after.
Registration, as well as the start and finish lines, will be at the back parking lot of the Gibbs Library, 40 Old Union Road. in Washington.
The 5K will be a race up the Bill Luce Road and back. The Fun Run will run up to Prescott Memorial School and back.
Registration fees cost $5 for the 5K, and $1 for the Fun Run. T-shirts are available while they last, and door prizes are planned.
Medals will be awarded for 5K winners in all age categories (male and female: 0-15 16-19 20-29 30-39, 40-49 50-59 60-64 65 and up).
Fun Run medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
