MADISON – Virginia Veneziano of Madison passed away at her home Aug. 2, 2021. She was born Aug. 5, 1929, in Canton, Massachusetts. She was raised by loving parents, Delbert and May( Rowe) Easler in Madison. In 1949 she married Lewis Veneziano, making their home in Madison in her childhood home. They shared 35 years of marriage, until Lewis’ passing in 1984.
Virginia worked for Norwock Shoe Company and then Key Bank, retiring in 1994 after 35 years of service. Virginia loved walking in the woods, watching and feeding the birds, and tending her gardens. In addition, she enjoyed photography, sketching and painting, card making, rug braiding, and reading-especially poetry. She loved her family and was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is predeceased by her husband Lewis Veneziano, and parents Delbert and May (Rowe) Easler, siblings, Roland Easler, Ronald Easler, Elean Easler Marroni, and half sister Lucreta Curtis. She is survived by one daughter, Diane (Veneziano) Godin and husband Gerard of Skowhegan, granddaughter Jennifer L. Godin, of Skowhegan and one very special cousin, James Easler of Oakland and his children, Steve, Janet, Karen, Jamie, Alan, Donna, and Becky. Two half sisters, Juanita Currier and Kathleen Morrell of Freeport, and one half brother Ray Gordon of Portsmouth, N.H. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family would like to thank her many doctors, especially Dr. Oto Prokop and Dr. Lakshman Subrahmanyan as well as their staff for their dedicated care and attention.
Visiting hours will be held Friday August 6, from 4-6 p.m., at Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Avenue, Skowhegan. The funeral service will be held Saturday August 7, at 11 a.m., at Smart & Edwards with Rev. Mark Tanner officiating. Committal service immediately following at Southside Cemetery.
