SKOWHEGAN – Ronald “Ron” M. Brewer, 78, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend went home to be with the Lord, Aug. 3, 2021. He was born May 12, 1943 in Portland the son of Maurice and Emma (Sargent) Brewer, and grew up in Linneus, Maine.

Ron was proud to serve his country in the U.S. Army which included war time in Thailand and Vietnam. He always held our American flag and the National Anthem

in the highest regards. He retired from Sappi, Skowhegan with 20 years as a papermaker where he was known as “RB”.

Ron liked doing things with family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, snowmobiling, umpiring, playing cards, working outside, puttering in his shop, and watching sports. Also, while living in Florida, he loved going to southern gospel concerts, time with friends, and especially enjoyed traveling with SonShine Quartet.

He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Free Church, now Shelters by Jesus having served there as an elder and recently in Praise Team. He also served as a deacon at the church he attended in Florida while living there.

Ron leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Faye; four sons, Dave and wife Carol of Skowhegan, Randy and wife Jen of Fairfield, Aaron and wife Elizabeth of Madison, Andy and wife Joey of Canaan; 15 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sister, Bonnie and husband Dennis of Presque Isle; many nieces and nephews; two very close friends, Richard Berry of Skowhegan and Carl Turner of New Hampshire.

His favorite Bible verse was Phil: 4: 13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 12, 2021 at 1 p.m., at Shelters by Jesus, 12 McClellan St., Skowhegan. A graveside service will be held Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 2 p.m., at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mt Vernon Avenue, Augusta.
