Phyllis E. (Haskell) Howell
EMBDEN – Phyllis E. (Haskell) Howell, 90, passed away peacefully in her sleep and went into the arms of Jesus on Aug. 8, 2021.
Phyllis was born on Oct. 17, 1930 in Embden, Maine, the daughter of Ernest and Marjorie Antworth. She was a very hard working woman at jobs from Maine to California and back again. She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her.
She touched the lives of many people in her long life. She will be remembered for her kindness to others. She was well known for her cooking, especially her pies and donuts. She was very active in her church, and loved to work in the church food booth at North New Portland Fair. She loved singing in the church choir.
When she was in high school she played to tuba and drums. She also loved spending time at the family camp with family and friends. When at home she loved to crochet, read, make jellies, and bread. She also was there to work on the snowmobile trails and work on wood with her cousins Cecil and Mary. She was active in the Historical Society in Embden. To sum it all up she was a very busy woman and lived life to the fullest up until eight days before her passing.
Phyllis is predeceased by her son, Timothy, and her daughter, Dianne. She is survived by her daughter Ellen, a son Forrest and his wife Karen, her 12 grandchildren,Rob, Gabe and his companion Mandy, Ethan and his companion Julie Ann, Jeremy and his companion Jessica, Katrina, Walli and his wife Kerra, Allen, Michelle and her husband Jeremy, Brian, Nicole, Allyson, and Lynn. As well as her eight great-grandchildren, and her three great-great-grandchildren.
Many thanks to the Hospice nurses Tammy and Aaron and a few others who lovingly helped take care of her , you were a blessing to all. There will be a graveside service at Sunset Cemetery in North Anson on Aug. 28, 2021, at 1 p.m. with Bill Myers presiding. Followed by a celebration of life gathering at the Methodist Church.
