FARMINGTON — A local man was injured Monday afternoon as he walked his bicycle across Wilton Road and was struck by a car near Michael Motors, Farmington police Officer Ryan Rosie wrote in an email Tuesday.

The driver of the car did not stop but was soon located by police.

Nikolaus Brennar, 43, of Farmington who was sitting on the sidewalk after being hit, with his damaged bike nearby, spoke to firefighters and police. He was taken by a NorthStar EMS ambulance to Franklin Memorial Hospital for injuries that were not considered life-threatening. The crash was reported about 2:33 p.m.

The crash investigation concluded that a 2008 Silver Chrysler PT Cruiser operated by David Ladd, 71, of Strong was traveling north toward downtown Farmington when the collision occurred, according to Rosie.

Ladd was issued a summons for leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.

A conviction on the charge carries a maximum 364 days in prison and up to a $2,000 fine.
