Following the death of her husband, Helen decided to leave New York and move back to Maine. She lived in her dream home, a log cabin, on a quiet lake, where she enjoyed swimming every day, rain, or shine. Her days were peaceful and quiet, usually spent reading and watching tv and she frequently met with close friends for mass and lunch. She was able to enjoy summers with her family next door for many, many years while listening to the loons on the lake.Helen was a gift from God, truly and angel on earth. Her consistent devotion to her family was remarkable and unparalleled. Her kindhearted spirit and warmth never went unnoticed, and her family is forever grateful for her. She will be lovingly remembered for her calm and steady ways, her intelligence, independence, great sense of humor, and thoughtfulness, never once forgetting a birthday or anniversary of any of her family and friends. She was raised as a devout Catholic, and her religion was the foundation of her life.
