Lakewood Theater plans to stage “Scapino” starting Aug. 29 at the theater on Theater Road in Madison.
Performances are set for 8 p.m. Aug. 26, 27, 28, Sept. 2, 3, and 4; 4 p.m. Aug. 29; and 2 p.m. Sept. 1.
In this hilarious update of Moliere’s classic farce, disgraced lawyer Scapino returns to Naples, Florida after serving jail time for helping a mob family. Though Scapino tries to put his past behind him, family pressure, old grudges, and the allure of new love all conspire to lead him back into trouble. Marx brothers meet the Three Stooges.
Tickets purchased in advance cost $23 for adults, $17 for children, $33 for cabaret seating; or $25, $19 or $36 at the door. Tickets are non-refundable.
