Rhonda Lee (Jackson) Cole

ANSON – Rhonda Lee (Jackson) Cole, 62, passed away unexpectedly in her home on August 23, 2021.

Rhonda was born to Lillian (Reed) and Gilbert Jackson on Sept. 18, 1958 in Skowhegan.

She was predeceased by her parents; and grandparents, maternal, Kay and Charles Reed of Bingham, and paternal, Howard and Edith Jackson of Madison.

She is survived by her daughter, Charie (Cole) Gower and her husband Ted, of Starks; sister, Donna Churchill and husband Charlie, of Madison, sister, Michelle Nile and husband Paul, of Madison; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

After attending Madison High School, she traveled abroad to Japan where she stayed for three years. She lived many places, including North Carolina, Winter Harbor, Auburn, and Loring AFB in Limestone before finally settling in Anson where she raised her daughter, Charie, alongside Charie’s father, Chris Cole.

Rhonda’s past work included Laverdiere’s Drug Store, several waitressing jobs and CNA work. Her hobbies included antique shopping, needlepoint, going to thrift stores, visiting new restaurants and shopping with her daughter and sisters.

A memorial service will be Friday, Sept. 10, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Smart and Edwards Funeral Home in Skowhegan. Graveside burial will be held at a later date for immediate family.
