Carolyn M. (Sturtevant) Staley

JOELTON, Tenn. – Carolyn M. (Sturtevant) Staley, 67, passed away in her home with her loving family by her side on Sept. 3, 2021.

She was born on Nov. 12, 1953, to Charles N. Sturtevant and Wyona C. (Stevens) Sturtevant. Her early life was spent in Maine, where she attended Madison Schools. Carolyn would later move to Tennessee and marry the love of her life, Arol “Nelson” Staley.

Carolyn loved the outdoors, she enjoyed kayaking and working summers in the Moosehead Lake region. She had an appreciation of craftsmanship, and antique furniture. Growing up, Carolyn and her sister, Linda, had an unbreakable bond that would carry them throughout their lives despite the miles that often separated them.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Nelson, of Joelton, Tenn.; stepmother, Sadie Sturtevant of Madison; daughter, Veronica (Crowley) Hewins, son-in law, Jamie, and grandson Austin, all of Zephyrhills Fla.; stepson, Arol Jr. and step-grandson, Dakota of Tennessee; stepson, Justin Staley of Oklahoma, stepdaughter, Angie Hobbs of Texas; sister, Linda Adams and husband David, of Madison, half-sister, Doreen Poulin, and husband Lee, of Oakland, half-sister Diane Hadley and husband Stan, of Florida; niece, Jennifer Parlin of Maine, and niece, Darcy Adams and fiancé Mark Wicks of Maine.

Carolyn was predeceased by her parents.

A graveside service will be held at a later date.
