WATERVILLE — No injuries were reported in a house fire late Monday on Kennedy Memorial Drive, but authorities said two dogs were killed.
The fire was reported about 10 p.m. at a home at 133 Kennedy Memorial Drive, near the intersection with Carver Street and across the street from Joseph’s Sporting Goods. Smoke was visible from the home, a fire official said.
The person living there was not home at the time. The bodies of the dogs were found inside and a cat was removed from the home and given oxygen and other medical attention, authorities said.
The damage to the home was minor, according to the fire official, who declined to give his name Tuesday. It’s not yet clear how the fire started, he said.
Winslow firefighters joined the Waterville department in responding to the scene.
