Headlines on two small items in the Sept. 13 edition of the Boston Globe say a lot about our current COVID situation: “GOP Governors: Vaccination should be a personal choice,” and directly beside that piece: “Ala. man dies after family says 43 hospitals denied him.”

Even though he suffered a cardiac emergency, 43 hospitals in three states were overwhelmed with unvaccinated coronavirus patients.
