Ronald C. “Tunk” Wilson Jr.

Ronald C. “Tunk” Wilson Jr., 64, passed away at his home, Sept. 29, 2021, with his loving family by his side.

He was born in Farmington, April 17, 1957, the son of Ronald C. and Marjorie (Cornforth) Wilson. Tunk attended Skowhegan area schools. He went on to work for Lucas Tree, fearlessly climbing and de-limbing trees. Later, he was a foreman and lineman for Madison Electric and afterwards joined the family logging business- Wilson and Sons Logging.

Tunk coached his sons baseball teams from T-ball to Babe Ruth throughout the years. He was an accomplished woodworker, making everything from cribbage boards to tables and walking sticks. He enjoyed watching football, NASCAR, and his favorite Westerns. Tunk was a family man who loved life. His outgoing nature endeared him to everyone he met. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and was known for being a hardworker.

Tunk was predeceased by his father, Ronald; and sister, Rhonda (Wilson) Millier.

He is survived by his wife, Lorri (Melanson) Wilson; his mother, Marjorie Wilson; sons Michael Laperle of Texas; Sean Wilson and wife, Ashley and their children, Braden and Grace of Madison; and Brady Wilson of Norridgewock. Tunk is also survived by his brother, Alfred Wilson of Skowhegan, sister, Robin Wilson of Norridgewock; special nephew, Cameron Wilson; and great-nephew, Aiden Wilson, affectionately known to Tunk as “Little Big Man”.

A celebration of Tunk’s life will be held 1 to 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 16, at the Elk’s Lodge, 21 Silver St., Skowhegan.
