John Paul
MADISON – John Paul, 82, passed peacefully into the presence of his Savior on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021, the only child of Cecil and Lillian (Marion) Paul. He was born in New Jersey on Oct. 14, 1938.
John’s life-long career in the marine industry began as a responsible lad of 13, and continued to the day before his brief hospitalization. He was employed as a master mechanic at three different marinas in New Jersey and Maine before opening John’s Marine Service in 1982 in East Madison.
John served his country proudly in the U. S. Navy Submarine Community beginning in 1955. He was Honorably discharged as an Engineman Class 3 in 1959.
John met Beatrice Macready after discharging from the military and the two married in 1961. He moved his family to Maine in 1978. John enjoyed deer hunting, being outdoors, and staying busy in his workshop.
His church family, friends, and loved ones remember him as a provider, a patriot, and a generous and principled man of faith in God.
John will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 60 years, Beatrice of East Madison; his son and his wife, Michael and Christy of North Carolina; his daughter and her husband, Lisa and Kevin of Clinton; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Christopher; and his grandson, Dustin.
A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021 at the Church of the Open Bible in Athens, ME. There are no visitation hours at his request.
