
Elizabeth “Betty” Poirier
MANCHESTER, N.H. – Elizabeth “Betty” Poirier, 88, of Manchester died Oct. 2, 2021 at her residence. Born in Cornish, Maine on Jan. 16, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Gustie and Alcide St. Pierre.
She graduated from Portland High School in 1953 and joined the US Marine Corp, serving three years before serving in the US Air Force for an additional three years.
Upon retiring from military service, she worked many years for The Hartford Insurance Company in Portland. She was then transferred to The Hartford in Manchester, N.H.
She married Roger Poirier in November 1974 and they were happily married for over 20 years prior to his passing in 1997. She lived in New Hampshire for many years and was predeceased by her five brothers, Joseph “Pete”, Allen “Bud”, Richard “Dickey”, David and Jeffrey.
Family members include her sister, Sandra Wells of Standish; several nephews, nieces; great-nephews and nieces; and cousins.
Per her request, burial with military honors will be private in Mt. Calvary Cemetery at her family’s convenience.
