Augusta has been fortunate to have two steadfast public servants in Kevin Lamoreau and Pia Holmes on the school board. They have proven their commitment to the students of Augusta and to ensuring that our schools and teachers have what they need to provide a welcoming and quality education to the children of Augusta.
Kevin and Pia have served Augusta and its students well in their time on the board. This includes serving on the Curriculum and Education, Finance, and Personnel committees, where Pia’s time as an educator and Kevin’s sharp eye for detail allow them to ask important questions and contribute meaningfully to the nuts-and-bolts work these committees do.
As a mother to newborn twins, I recognize that the school board members we elect today will put in place the policies that affect my girls when they start kindergarten. I can’t think of any two people better suited to set my girls, and all of Augusta’s children, up for success than Kevin and Pia.
I hope you’ll join me in voting to send Pia Holmes and Kevin Lamoreau back for another term on the Augusta school board.
