GARDINER — The dominant season continues for the Gardiner Area High School volleyball team.
The No. 2 Tigers (16-0) dispatched No. 7 Gray-New Gloucester in straight sets, 25-17, 25-16, 25-23, in a Class B quarterfinal match Tuesday night.
Gardiner has lost just two of 48 sets played this fall.
“We played well,” Gardiner coach Tiffany Grover said. “GNG was giving us balls that were hard to return. They hit really well at us so we had to protect our side of the court. We worked hard in practice to protect our court.”
Gardiner will next face No. 3 Cape Elizabeth (12-4) in a Class B semifinal, likely on Thursday. The Patriots finished 8-8.
Lizzy Gruber led the way with 15 kills for the Tigers on Tuesday.
Grover said Emily Folsom and Emily Grady also played terrific defensively.
“They really did a great job of protecting our court,” Grover said. “We have some things to work on still, but we’ll be ready, Cape Elizabeth is going to be a very tough game match for sure.”
