GrowSmart Maine plans to hold its 2021 summit from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4.
In a continuation of last year’s summit model, the summit will be anchored in-person in Biddeford with satellite locations in Bangor, Calais, Caribou, Machias, and Sidney, Rangeley and Rumford. For those who prefer, the summit will also be fully virtual.
Keynote speakers will be Dr. Devashree Saha, senior associate of the World Resources Institute, and Kate Dufour, director of state and federal relations at the Maine Municipal Association.
Together, these two women aim to provide a global and a local perspective on the solutions Maine communities need to emerge from the coming decades of tumultuous change with a stable and strong economic infrastructure.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
