PITTSBORO, N.C. – Annie Louise French Flewelling, born Jan. 20, 1926 in Somerville to Ernest French and Sadie Grotton French, died Sept. 30, 2021 and is buried at Oak Grove Cemetery in Gardiner.
Survived by daughter, Avis Flewelling Merryfield and son-in-law, Michael Merryfield of North Carolina; grandchildren Eric (Rayna) of Massachusetts and Leif (Kelly) of New Hampshire; great-grandchildren Kara, Jack, Vivien, and Michael; great-great-grandson, Blake; and multiple nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by husband of 68 years, Hollis Flewelling; and daughter, Gail.
Annie, a long-time resident of Gardiner was passionate about genealogy and was an active member of the Maine Mayflower Society. She is remembered as a mentor to many searching for their family roots.
The family wishes to thank Chatham Ridge Assisted Living staff and residents of Chapel Hill, N.C. for their friendship and care.
