Margaret Elaine (Preston) Sewall

HALLOWELL – Margaret Elaine (Preston) Sewall, 79, of Hallowell, formally of Somerville, Mass., passed away July 16, 2021.

Elaine was the loving mother of the late Charles (Timothy Sewall) Shaw; daughter of Stephen and Margaret (Cunningham) Preston; sister of the late Joanna (Jack) Cirame of Falmouth, Mass., Stephen (Jean) Preston of Winchester, Mass., and Patricia (Paul) Cedrone of Medford, Mass. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Born and raised in Somerville, Mass., Elaine traveled the world as a young woman having worked as a flight attendant. She lived in Manhattan, N.Y., Majorca Spain, and Mount Snow, Vt., before settling in what would become her home, Boothbay Harbor, where she chose to raise her family. Elaine truly felt at home in Maine for its rocky coast and sense of community.

A celebration of life will be celebrated on Nov. 6 at St Brigid Church, 841 E. Broadway, South Boston, Mass. at 11:30 a.m.
