
Marguerite C. Andrews
AUGUSTA – Marguerite C. Andrews, 90, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021, at the Alfond Center Augusta after a brief illness. She is the wife of the late Charles R. Andrews.
Marguerite was born May 2, 1931, in Augusta. She was the daughter of the late Rinaldo E. and Marion B. (Jordan) Carr. She was a resident of Augusta for most of her life. She was a graduate of Cony High School class of 1949 and went on to further her education at Gates Business College.
Marguerite worked at Central Maine Power in the Human Resources and benefits department for 30 years until her retirement. She previously worked at the Kennebec Journal in the circulation department.
Marguerite enjoyed knitting, hooking rugs and making porcelain dolls. She was also a member of the Central Maine and Maine Yankee retirees association. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband to China, England, Scotland, Ireland, Canada and most of the U.S.
She is survived by her sister, Bethyl House of Augusta; and several nieces, nephews; great-nieces and nephews; and great-great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Marguerite was predeceased by her brothers and sisters Rinaldo E. Carr Jr., Roger J. Carr, Roderick Carr, Sherwood E. Carr, Elaine MacKinnon and Mayetta LeVasseur.
Marguerite’s visiting hours will be at Knowlton and Hewins, One Church St. Augusta on Saturday, Nov. 6, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Her Funeral Service will begin at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Forest Grove Cemetery, Augusta. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
