WATERVILLE — Maine Children’s Home is in need of donations of brand new pajamas and clothing for Maine children receiving gifts from MCH’s Christmas Program.
The program reports that it is receiving applications from families faster than it is receiving donations of needed gift items.
MCH is a 122-year-old nonprofit that provides a variety of programs for supporting families and children.
The most urgently needed items for children 12 and younger:
• Size 7 pajamas for boys;
• Size 12 pajamas for boys;
• Size 14/16 pajamas for girls; and
• Size 16/18 pajamas for girls.
For men and women:
• Shirts and pants in men’s sizes;
• Shirts and pants in women’s sizes; and
• Underwear in women’s and men’s sizes.
The Christmas Program provides brand new clothes, winter essentials, toys, books, and games to more than 1,500 children throughout Maine whose families are facing financial hardship during the holidays.
Donations of brand new items can be dropped off on the front porch of Building No. 3 (the second building on the right) on the MCH campus at 93 Silver St. in Waterville between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Donors who drop off items are asked to fill out a donation card to leave with their donation bag or box, and to label their donation with “ATTN: Christmas Program.”
