EMBDEN – Nadine (Spencer) Atwood, 82, of Embden, passed away peacefully in her home, Monday, Dec. 13, 2021.Nadine was born Sept., 24, 1939, in North Anson, the daughter of William and Mary (Viles) Spencer.Nadine graduated from Anson Academy in North Anson and the Skowhegan Business School. She worked for the Department of Health and Welfare at the State of Maine.Nadine and her husband Lawrence Atwood were married July 9, 1960 in North Anson. After she married, she was a homemaker and supported her husband’s construction business. She loved her home and decorating it, her cookbooks, and cooking for her family. She also enjoyed reading. She was proud of her children and grandchildren, and loved her family and friends so much. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Atwood of Embden; sons William Atwood and wife Sheryl of Embden, and Gary Atwood and wife Kristabeth of Burlington Vt., daughter, Susan Wilson and husband Jon of Embden; granddaughter, Shelby Poulin and husband Alex of Fairfield, grandsons Benjamin Atwood of Norwich, N.Y., Andrew Wilson of East Setauket, N.Y., and Garrett Wilson of Embden; great-grandson, Lane Poulin of Fairfield; her sister, Elaine (Spencer) Bates and husband Erwin of Williamsburg, Va.; as well as several nephews, nieces, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents William and Mary Spencer; and her in-laws, Lawrence and Charlotte Atwood. A private service will be held for the immediate family.
