SCARBOROUGH – George E Masse Jr., 74, passed away Saturday morning, Dec. 4, 2021, at the Maine Veterans Home in Scarborough.
He was born in Augusta on Feb. 17, 1947, the son of George E. Masse Sr. and Madeline (Paré) Sandborn. One of five siblings, he resided in Augusta.
He attended Buker High School and served in the Navy. He worked as a baker and a line chef for 20 years.
George was predeceased by his parents, George Sr. and Madeline; sister Lillian Smith; and brother Paul J. Masse Sr.
He is survived by his sister Lucille Heverly of Windsor and her husband John, his brother Donald Masse of Benton; and many nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation or funeral services at this time. Burial will be at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta at a time and date to be determined.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Maine Veterans Home for their care during the last months of George’s life.
